The Orcs will destroy the town in the central area, and will attack the southeast base shortly after. The strategy is to first destroy the offending Orcs, then use your Heroes to destroy the Dark Portal. However, you should leave your heroes there until much later in the game, otherwise the Orcs’ full forces will be sent out against you. A line of rocks and your dwarven demolition squad are all that keeps them from joining the other Humans and attacking the Dark Portal. Your heroes are separated from the rest of your forces, in an alcove to the north. Retreat the units caught in battle to the fortified base to the southeast.
There is no hope of stopping them from overrunning it. An army of Orcs is swarming around a lightly-defended citadel. This level opens in the spirit of battle. The Human Campaign ends with the climactic battle in which the Humans are being beaten back to their own world, and must reach and destroy the Dark Portal to prevent further harassment from the Orcs.
The story goes that while the Humans invaded the Orc world of Draenor in order to find the means to destroy the Dark Portal once and for all, the Orcs have been trying to open new portals to other worlds.
